Aesthetics and visuals, but he has mentioned this to me three times, so I am trying to meet with him and let him know the data pipes and database / warehouse have to the focus, not creating new dashboards on old data, thus slowing us down. Once we have all our data, we can do more "user input" to get his vision or at least some Alpha dashboards to get their input on the "yay or nay".

I think we need to align a little bit more on the bytecode interaction and we all should be in the next couple of meetings for the training. I am going to start building the custom connectors in Fivetran so we have our own data to work with in the training and help us with linking up/using dbt. Therefore we will also need to start the dbt trial/account, you haven't set this up yet correct? We will need to setup a "dbt Cloud " acccount not "core" per bytecodes recommendation (dbt Core savings not worth the headache).

For now I suggest we all just use that one analytics account for dbt. After fivetran pipelines are set up and we all need to be in dbt more we can pay for the team tier and each get an account.

I got some help from Bytecode in regards to an issue I was having with Fivetran. I am going to test out their suggestions this morning. If things work I will start bringing in some data and test dbt on it before our meeting on Wednesday. Will keep you updated on progress. Also, making some progress on ADP and should be able to use a connector in Fivetran now that SSL certificate is working.

Got Fivetran to sync data to BigQuery! Data came across not in the correct format but that is a manageable fix, big thing is getting the custom function to lawruler to work!

And just had a GREAT Data Engineering training session with Brian Hirst on TIP, LawRuler for our data warehouse. We have LawRuler Casetypes piped in for Nick's custom pipe, that data then gets linked to a application table that we'll use to have new Nick and team own to tell the new database and dashboards what the billable rates (acquisition rev, talk time rev, talk time flat rates, etc.) for sign-ups / docs sent / case reviews and any case type created in LawRuler.
We aren't ready yet in DBT to "create tables and their update states" but we'll get there soon.
Have to get something to Flatiron today for Cam. Still stuck need to work through until complete. If done, before I will attend our meeting today

we created custom report layouts for every active case type and are now piping the layout id list to lr_layouts in BQ. Using this as a mapping table to create a table per case type in BQ for each lead and its form Q&As.

@Ryan We got lr-inbox completed, testing it on a schedule. If our testing is successful then you can begin using it for whatever else you need! We have been trying to do something similar for the Q&A's but not even that is working/improving the delivery time. I have come up with a strategy to use "Cloud Tasks" to schedule the custom report pulls by each function pulling the next layout to run and adding it to its own queue when it has completed. It won't be perfect but it should at least be able to get through the LR pulls eventually without hitting a concurrency issue. If it works it will be a pretty nifty solution if I do say so myself.

Btw I got the Leadspedía code to pull all leads completed. Just trying to make it more performant. Are there any instances when old lead information is changed/updated ever? If not then we don’t have to pull everything every time and can just overwrite every 15min for each day, finalize at EoD, and then not have to go back. Leadspedua is way faster than LR but just trying to save us storage/compute costs
@Nicholas McFadden, hmmmmm....leads sell, if they fail, we "Cherry Pick" / Manual Sell Feature them, but that is only done once per day. Maybe on occasion, Cameron would adjust a lead price. So not updates as much as new leads, except for manuals. Have Mark Maninora show you his process in Leadspedia he does EVERY day with me.
Ok because we can have it pull and overwrite everything. Was able to pull ~395k leads for YTD in about 4min so if we have to do full appends/overwrites we could just seeing there is a better way. That being said should we overwrite or append? If we need to track the changes overtime to have an audit trail then maybe we have to append but it will cost us. Otherwise we can just overwrite each time.
Probably overwrite it, that way any broad changes he makes, we have the "current state of data" in LP.
so that would be another compelling reason for overwrite

Hey working as I can on the LP stuff. Tested using the secrets manager in google with it and got that working. This way we can start to consolidate all of our credentials/keys securely and manage the permissions accordingly.
Dennis Shaull is the IT privacy and security kid, once you know how to do it, we can train him to support it.
I got the code and its working. We will just need to determine how we want to split permissions and what that all means. Might be good to have him study up on how to structure and set all that up

I think we could do just like we did on the tip project, have them send you the shield, profit and loss statement and let’s use the subtotal of the chart of accounts to create a monthly entry, that matches the version Rose and Al have, and then we can rip that monthly into 30 days, 30 days and five leads, sold leads and contracts, etc. does that make sense or do you have a another idea? And excuse any typos, I’m driving.
That’ll make Rose able to input it into the retool portal without having to do napkin, math verbatim from the profit loss

I would not transfer his morning routine for tip, it’s a process that he knocks out in about 20 minutes. But we’ll go away when we merge the new financials and tip with the old ones which that should be upcoming very soon.

Well the new process will help but there will be need to review and reconcile regardless and to work with Accounting. Might be good to discuss where this all lies. There is an argument to be made that the financials should be handled by SL due to confidentiality or the fact that “reconciliation” is a tip thing due to something changed or was improperly placed operationally so it screwed up financials and they have better context. Just saying that even when things get “completed” there will be manual reviews or eyes on it prior to accounting and who owns making those fixes.

Edward is doing the things that the tip side would do because of referral leads are transfers, and Aidan Celeste used to do them before that. Those are the only two people that have ever learned besides me.

When would a leadspedia leadID (ex 6WSUVROJ) have two records on sold leads? This example has two soldIDs and two contractIDs. The buyername shows BG and Reliance. no altcontractid for Reliance so is this just an example of the fee split for two co-counsels? I just am getting a bunch of dups when I look at the leadspedialeadid
Also, what is the cherry designation? Its on the BG record but not the Reliance one

I thought I saved my query for getting spend to lead level. I guess it didn’t save so going to rebuild that today. Also, you mentioned that the Leadspedia create date is the one we should use to split daily lead spend, correct? Spend date and create date should match and apply to only those that were sold to a contract?

The lead video create date will be in eastern standard time. At least it’s always that way in the UX and there’s no way to change it.
Do you think it should be the contract sell date or just the fact that it was sold? The lead was generated on day of spend ideally so when it actually sells on contract is irrelevant, no? spend date = LP create date?
It needs to be the day the lead was created, because even without a contract, he wants to know the cost per lead
For example, Caleb spends $5000. He wants to know if he got 500 leads.

@Nicholas McFadden, let me know. I want to get it finished before EOD Thursday to ensure the "base financials table" is getting validated daily along side the PROD system. Then from there we can worry about Financial Details by Day SQL model and I want that in DBT running with the SL Orders tables so I can easily join them. Basically we'll take your ETL BQ table that refreshes, put that as "raw / DBT staging" model, then write Details by Day in the financialdetailsschema, validate and also get base financial table by sold leads and retainers running in TEST with production.

Ok yes that can be our target. I just am troubleshooting through different scenarios we are encountering. For example making a mapping table of casetypes and contracts in a more automated/programmatic way so we can handle the reffereals since everything was going off of leadspedia id and I found 5500 leads without and lp_id or s1.
