@Melanie Macias I need to enlist your help to put together a powerpoint deck today. We only need like 4 slides. If you can please connect with @Yan Ashrapov he can assist with helping to "flush out" each slide.
For purposes of outline here is what we want:
Slide 1 Sexual Abuse Campaigns, reasons why important (try to find 3-4 bullet points from letter) Statement from ChildUSA (Shield is on Board of this organization) (See below from Jessica at ChildUSA.org
Slide 2 LA County Example Amount spent = Over 20 million claimants secured = over 3000 claimants signed Total pool of claimants = Approximately 7000 claimants eligible for settlement Settlement (link here) =
Slide 3 Amount spent on Abuse campaigns across META in past 2 years = 50Million Projected spend over next two years = 100+ Million
Slide 4 Proposed Policy change allowing ads to run with strict scripting and involving a process to "white list" only approved companies that use best practic Tik Tok can be seen as an advocate for helping children and supporting systemic change to victims lives Unlocks access to instant revenue which will continue to grow over the next decade
from Jessica at ChildUSA
Why TikTok Should Allow Legal Ads for Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse TikTok’s targeted ad capabilities offer a rare and vital opportunity to reach survivors of child sexual abuse—especially younger individuals and those from marginalized communities who are more likely to turn to social media for information, support, and a sense of belonging. Many survivors suffer in silence for decades before they talk to anyone about their traumatic experiences. They may struggle to disclose because of psychological barriers such as shame and self-blame, as well as social factors like gender-based stereotypes or the stigma surrounding victimization. Further, many injuries resulting from child sexual abuse do not manifest until survivors are well into adulthood. By the time survivors are ready to come forward, they often assume (or have been told) that it is too late to take legal action. In fact, many were legally barred from filing claims until recent changes in the law made it possible to pursue justice long past the date of abuse. Still, few outside legal or advocacy circles are aware of these reforms or fully appreciate their significance. As a platform where survivors already seek connection and share their stories, TikTok is uniquely positioned to close that awareness gap and help bring life-changing information to those who need it most. Survivors deserve to know their rights, and trauma-informed legal advertising helps make that possible. That knowledge is vital, as the ability to seek justice through civil litigation can be profoundly healing. Pursuing legal action gives survivors a chance to reclaim their voice, find validation in being heard, and access the support necessary for long-term recovery. Civil justice not only helps individual survivors—it also protects future children by exposing hidden predators and the institutions that enabled them, shifting the financial burden of abuse from victims and taxpayers to those responsible, and educating the public in ways that drive institutional reform and stronger child protection policies. Shield Legal is proud to partner with CHILD USA, the nation’s leading nonprofit think tank dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse, to ensure that survivors can access legal remedies. By supporting this kind of outreach, TikTok can help survivors obtain the necessary tools to hold both their abusers and the institutions that enabled them accountable. Just as TikTok bans content that perpetuates harm, it should also enable tools that repair it. Responsible legal advertising is one of those tools.
PPT Slide format: Why TikTok Should Allow Legal Ads for Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse • TikTok reaches survivors others can’t: TikTok’s targeted ad capabilities can reach younger and marginalized survivors who rely on social media for support and information. • Survivors suffer in silence: Shame, stigma, and trauma delay disclosure—many don’t come forward for decades. • Most think it’s too late: Many survivors wrongly believe they can’t take legal action, even though laws have changed to allow it. • Few know their rights: Information about reforms that give survivors renewed access to justice is not widely known or appreciated outside legal and advocacy communities. • Civil justice is healing and protective: Legal action helps survivors heal, exposes predators, shifts the cost of abuse, and drives institutional reform. • Shield Legal + CHILD USA: Partnering to ensure survivors can access justice and hold abusers and enablers accountable. • TikTok can be part of the solution: Just as TikTok bans harmful content, it should also enable tools that repair harm—responsible legal advertising is one of those tools.

@Melanie Macias @Jennifer Durnell just aligning regarding deadline. Don’t know if Cameron mentioned, we will need it by very early next week at the latest as we are traveling abroad on Monday/Tuesday to present this. Thank you and appreciate the understanding regarding the short notice
Thanks @Yan Ashrapov
I saw @Cameron Rentch mentioned a letter from Child USA, do you have that letter you can forward to @Jennifer Durnell and I
It is the text above^^
@Yan Ashrapov, regarding the deadline, we'll have the first draft done in a few hours, so that should give us time if there are any edits or updates that need to be made prior to your presentation.
@Cameron Rentch, @Yan Ashrapov. Here's what I have so far. I'd still like to make a cover slide. These are just JPGS, but after approval, I'll format the deck into a PDF. I'm going to tinker with some of the alignment, but in the meantime, if you both could please look these over as far as content and formatting-wise and let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions, thank you
Wow looks awesome!!! @Jennifer Durnell. @Yan Ashrapov any feedback?
Perfect, thank you all! I'll add the cover and put this into a PDF and send it over. If you do think of have any new additions or edits before the presentation, please let me know, and I'll adjust.
Deck is attached here, I also uploaded it to Google drive and gave you all access. @Cameron Rentch, @Yan Ashrapov https://drive.google.com/file/d/13gy5cIbuYqOUXOX2bvHZhnpg89VoCUrj/view?usp=sharing

thank you so much @Jennifer Durnell and @Melanie Macias
@Cameron Rentch @Yan Ashrapov this presentation looks amazing, is there anything else you need?
I think we are solid. @Yan Ashrapov agreed?
@Cameron Rentch yes.
@Melanie Macias @Jennifer Durnell the presentation went great in Berlin, so well done on the powerpoint! As a follow up we are working with Tik tok to help police and submit ads from competitors that are not "compliant" from a legal prespective. One of the biggest challenges we are having is competitors seeing our ads, then creating a version exactly like our (sometimes even hiring the same tik tok one actor) but putting an into/hook ahead of it with something that isnt compliant.
Here are things that we need to look for:
So happy the presentation went well @Cameron Rentch and @Yan Ashrapov!! Looking forward to our convo on Monday. Have a good Saturday all!
