Just a quick recap of my call with Shellie today to make sure we are looking for the right people for you.
Position 1 - Sales Ops: • I would call this a Sales Ops Admin, given you desired salary range of 65-70k or so. That's a bit on the low side, but it doesn't sound like you're asking a lot from this person. • It sounds like we need someone who can essentially handle project management/workflow management -- Will be hands on in seeing the process through from end to end starting at the invoicing stage, and through deliverables, ensuring internal players are delivering their items on time, identify issues along the way, ensure client is paying on time, and report back to Cam with findings as needed • I'm anticipating you would like this person on site 5x a week • It doesn't sound like you need someone from the "same role", per se, as much as we need someone who has experience following the bouncing ball through a complex process with lots of internal players, good with customer service, and solid reporting skills Position 2 - Social Media Mgr: • I think you're in the right general ballpark of 80-100kish on the base. 80 is a bit low as EVERYONE is hiring social media people, but you're not wildly off given that you're not asking for them to have experience with high end fashion or lifestyle brands -- we want someone out of professional services, and who has some experience servicing multiple clients at once • It sounds like you want them to help with branding and to drive eyes to the clients social media from an omni channel perspective (tiktok, IG, youtube, facebook, etc) • My only question there is - is it more about building up the social following for your clients, or more about helping generate new marketing material and assets for their brand awareness -- what's the goal for this person with each client? • It will help you GREATLY if you're open to this person working at least a hybrid schedule. Marketing people in general, but ESPECIALLY digital marketing people, will have a lot of expectations around hybrid or remote work. I know, I know, you like to have people in the office in general -- but there's a huge expectation in this field around flexibility for that, AND, if they'll primarily be working with your clients who aren't located on site anyway, perhaps you'd be open to it --- If not, we will do our best to show you the folks that are open to being on site 5x a week, but I wanted to set expectations -- I never try to fight you on this part of it, but this is one time I think it makes sense to discuss, hope you don't mind @Cameron Rentch - if this all looks ok to you, we will get started ASAP. If not, please let me know what we need to revise. Happy to do so. Just want to make sure we're on the right track so there's no confusion at the end. Please and thank you.
@Cameron Rentch @deleted-U05DY7UGM2L -- Nick is pleased to accept the offer at 140k base and two weeks of vacation. I'll email Shellie to get the OL in order.
We ordered the background check for him just now, too.
@Cameron Rentch @deleted-U05DY7UGM2L - as soon as we have your thumbs up on the two positions above we can get started for you
@deleted-U056TJH4KUL @deleted-U05DY7UGM2L good to go%
@Cameron Rentch - SALES OPS CANDIDATE -- I like Melissa's tenure, communication skills, accounting/receivables, project management and experience working with law firms as clients.
Malissa Phillips - Sales Operations Administrator: • Lives in Henderson - works down the street from Shield now • Communication skills are very good • Great tenure throughout career • Has a combination of project management, accounting/receivables, and experience working with law firms as clients. • Cannon (safe manufacturer): She held two positions simultaneously here for the two years: Senior Sales Operations Manager and Marketing Manager. She supervises a team of 5-6 in Mexico where they have a manufacturing site. She manages the entire sales cycle from the processing of the order to the collection of cash. She assists the team there with everything from inside sales to cash collection. In the past year she improved AR collections from 75 to 95%. She started here as a key account manager handling inside sales. She is seeking a new role in sales operations as her current role has no growth potential. Her boss left a few months ago and she was training to replace her until she was recently told that they aren't going to refill her boss's role. • Atkinson (court reporters): this role waa combination of account/project management and accounting. She worked with the production team ensuring that deliverables were received by their law firm clients, that accounts were paid in a timely fashion and collected on past due accounts. She was the "saver" of accounts - their retention and collection specialist. She worked with law firms both big and small. She would very likely still be there if her husband did not relocate to Vegas for a new job. • Vanderbilt: she worked in the parking office at Vanderbilt which is the largest employer in Tennessee. She did a little bit of everything here including dealing with difficult and/or upset customers. • She is targeting a base salary of 75K+

Cameron -
OK, first submission for this role. I know he doesn't have the sexiest looking resume, per se, but I actually liked him a lot more than I thought I would after chatting in depth with him. I think he has the right demeanor for the role, was really excited about the branding possibilities and services offered, and is one of those 'tech nerds' who geeks out on all the different things you can dig into with reporting, KPIs, measurables, data, etc.
Garrett Wilson: • Lives in Vegas, happy to be in office • Dreamlands was an NFT company, and obviously, that world had a brief flash in a pan before people realized it was never really going to grow - He was laid off as part of general downsizing and will get good references from there • TikTok is not the main platform he has worked on, it has been more in IG/Reels, but a lot of what you do on Reels and IG translates over directly to the other platform • At Panavision he drove growth from 130k to over 200k followers by adjusting and implementing strategy - previously they were purely fixated on the crew and the work the crew did -- He adjusted that strategy to take a more wholistic view of the equipment itself, how it works, how the crew interacts with it, etc -- focused much more on storytelling and humanizing everything • You'll see some movement between Las Angeles and Vegas -- He grew up in Vegas, it's where friends and family are, and he's excited to stay here long term • He has worked with large and small accounts, and doesn't need hand holding -- will dive right in • Looking for $92-$100k base
@Cameron Rentch - The Social Media marketing pool of candidates in Vegas is pretty woeful. There are more people for us to sort through, and I will present you more in the coming days, but the base of people, in general, is pretty awful. Lots of either crap attitudes, no organic growth experience, super tiny brands, etc etc.....
One option would be to let us look in LA, OC, SD for a more remote person, who would absolutely have deeper experience -- BUT....I know remote people have been an absolute non-starter for you. Just a suggestion!!
@deleted-U056TJH4KUL would not be "first choice". We truly need someone that has experience organicially grwoing and creating "social proof" on Tik tok this will be 75% of their day to day. We can keep in the the "hopper".
Are you open to me showing you some people here in LA that would be remote - but happy to come to vegas maybe once or twice a month? @Cameron Rentch
really prefer someone in office and in vegas. Open to increasing salary range if that gets the right person
@Cameron Rentch @deleted-U05DY7UGM2L
Another Sales Ops for you....
Josephine "Jo" Tuilagi - Sales Operations Administrator: • Lives in Vegas • Communication skills are very good • Kleen Rite(car wash supplies distribution center): She worked closely with all operations folks handling customer inquiries, returns, follow-up on customer deliverables and accounting for invoicing and payment tracking as well as booked freight. Scheduling, coordination and follow-up with customers and internal ops.; she was the right hand person to the Ops Manager. • Anixter (construction supply wholesaler): She coordinated with the Ops Manager and the sales team. Handled customer inquiries and returns, responsible for billing for the sales team, created monthly budgets for both the warehouse and the sales dept and set up vendor meetings. • B&M Construction ( a subsidiary of the construction co that distributed furniture to VA hospitals). They hired her knowing she was soon to relocate to Las Vegas. She worked very closely with project coordinators tracking orders (projects) preparing reports for management, scheduling deliveries and/or installations and managing inventory • United Site Services ( a national company who rented porta potties and temporary fencing): dealt with projects from scheduling driver routes to timely invoicing, coordinating with accounting to resolve discrepancies and maintaining customer information. The company was closing their SJ office and she wanted to relocate to their Vegas location since her son had graduated high school but there were no openings in Vegas so she took the short-term role with B&M. • She is targeting 65-75K
Both local guys, well spoken, hands on, and good experience with TikTok specifically (have also done other social platforms along the way too)
Kel Dansby • Well spoken, hands on, very inventive • Started a TT for ESPN from the ground up (espn ringside) - he ran it from an omni channel perspective, grew it from literally zero (inception) to 1.8M followers before he was impacted by the mass Disney layoffs • He wrote all the content, designed the layout, calendar, you name it
• Been consulting for the last few months, but really would prefer to have one place to call home
Nicholas Achor: • another well spoken guy • Still at the Wynn, but tired of having to be on call almost 24/7 in case something happens at an event or a club where he has to run over, take picture and film footage for content to use in the coming days • He runs creative from top to bottom, he has a lower level person that helps with some of the admin stuff along the way, but everything touches his hands and eyes before it goes out - highly involved • Curently running a TT account for the Wynn around 531k in followers, and spending super minimally on paid (maybe 10k a year?) -- almost nothing comparatively -- doing everything organically • Same price range as Kel above
Also, I know Garrett (above a few days ago) was not your number 1 pick, but I really think he's worth talking to - There are a ton of similarities between TT and Reels (by design) and I really thought he might have the right demeanor to come in and really own this thing for you

@deleted-U056TJH4KUL this candidate seems to have viable experience Malissa Phillips. Other does not seem to. Let's interview Malissa
Could you tell me what you think the other candidate is lacking, so I can better hone in for future candifdates?
All construction and manufacturing experience not translatable @deleted-U056TJH4KUL
We need someone more used to working on digital marketing or law firm
@Cameron Rentch @deleted-U05DY7UGM2L
We had a good chat with Malissa and she’s interested. She’s already making 74k on the base right now and ideally would like to stay lateral or a slight step up.
Could we maybe get her for 72.5…..maybe yes. But it’s a slam dunk at 75k.
Happy to toe company line in whatever you want to do Cam, but my humble 2 cents worth is to offer her 75k and call it a day.
Will take my lead from you though!!
@deleted-U05DY7UGM2L @deleted-U056TJH4KUL new hire needed:
Research specialist Experienced in medical grant writing Research and creating medical and health oriented briefs for legal actions can talk more about It but start to think about how we find this person
@deleted-U05DY7UGM2L I have no idea, google told me this
OK, I’ll do some more research tomorrow as well. Cory was asking and I wanted to double check that you didn’t already have a number in mind. Thank you! Also, Cory just let me know that he no longer has slack. It kept kicking him out so he canceled it.
