Hey @Patsy Miller nice seeing you in Vegas, and thanks again for the dinner invite. Might have picked up a lead from the end of the table, but also had a great chat with the couple from Atlanta next to me. That being said, I received another lead from an old buddy in the business and I see that you’re a mutual connection. What experience, if any, have you had with Gary Rothkopf? I’d like to reach out today but not sure I can drop my buddies name, but he said Gary has quite a bit of budget to spend. Cheers
@Mulkeen Great seeing you as well. Was the couple at the end also in town for MTMP?
Gary Rothkopf is a broker. He also manages case acquisition vendors for Milberg, a huge law firm that focuses solely on the lowest possible acquisition cost. I, personally, don’t think they are a good fit for us.
I have already had a conversation with Gary and he knows Cam. I think Andy has also talked to him.
That said, you are welcome to give it a try, but don’t forget I warned you!!
so I got a tip that he pulled budgets from Pulaski, so there is an open spot to take his budgets
@Mulkeen One more thing. And campaigns we do “through” Rothkopf will require we pay him a 1.5% commission.
couple at end of table were also in town from MTMP, yes
What do you mean that he pulled budgets from Pulaski?
that was the old co-founder of Tort Experts that broke off and went on his own, took his good staff with him
my buddy said he is no longer doing business with Pulaski due to some fall out
we had messy business with Tort Experts, but that’s over and done with, he left there for similar reasons we had with the co-founder
Might be a good lead for you to sell wholesale to him.
I’m guessing Gary was buying from Pulaski for Milberg and with their strict return policy and low cost requirements they had to stop doing business together. It happens all the time with Gary/Milberg.
I refer to it as wholesale, but I really just mean selling to another vendor rather than a law firm.
yeah we don’t do that much at all either anymore, but maybe his pricing will be close
Sean, I know CAM almost 15 years and I have spoken to Andy in the past. Plus Patsy has done business with us before. I think that’s enough Shield staff for me to deal with. Andy gave me some quotes in the past and it was higher than what we wanted. Best, Gary
It was a good try. LOL. Trust me, they aren’t a good fit. Always chasing the lowest possible price. They have put small vendors out of business…demanding returns and replacements. Plus, they have dozens of TCPA violations against them (likely from all the cheap leads/vendors)!
And here you have it! This just in from Gary: Patsy, Can you do AFFF firefighters with testicular and Kidney cancer only for around $3300-3400? I can do t least $500-750K maybe more. Gary
That’s about what we are quoting for all the cancers/injuries.
Well got him talking with the whole company i guess lol
He copied Cam on that email to me. If we somehow make it work I will definitely split it with you.
Hey @Patsy Miller, well done on Hardison, but I gotta ask what convinced them? I was talking to Ken and Ben both at Hardison in the fall, and everything fell on deaf ears
Well, it's not a done deal as far as I'm concerned. It's actually an "opportunity" that Greg brought to the table. I told Greg I've been down this road many times with Ken and he always talks a big game but never follows through. He got me on a call with Ken and he told me on that call that he would move forward with $100k. I don't have the fee split agreement from Bailey Glasser yet, so I haven't even presented that to Ken. Fingers crossed.
But again, I've been down this road before with Ken and have never actually run a campaign for him in all the years I've been doing this.
so 3 people from Shield all chatting to him, lol
Yep, I guess so. I didn't realize you had talked to them too.
We've got a CRM now!! Copper. We just don't have everything in working order yet. I'm working with Ryan to get it working on both sides of the business...sales and media buying. We are only just testing it right now with the new campaign launches.
hey @Patsy Miller, morning….any idea what we are charging for Ozempic contracts? I assume PFAS is similar to AFFF, around $3k?
I would quote $1400 to $1800 for Ozempic. Let me check on PFAS. It’s lower than AFFF
Quote the same range as Ozempic for PFAS. They are coming in about the same price. But be careful with that one as the criteria really matters with PFAS. We need to know specifically which cancers and which geographic areas they want to to target. Gather that information and we can set their expectations appropriately.
video game abuse I assume is budget only, we don’t have a price tied down to contracts yet?
We don't have the price down yet, but a competitor that Cameron knows is quoting $500-$700 and Cameron believes that's attainable. I would simply quote "sub $1000" ! I believe this will be one of the largest ever litigations.
yeah we spoke about this briefly while in Vegas, and that couple from Atlanta I sat next to at dinner was all about it as well
That couple is Tina and Andrew Bullock. Tina is leading this litigation and getting some very high profile attorneys to back her...and partner with her. She's been researching this tort for two years. Very exciting times for them. She is presenting in from of the JPML next months and hopes to get an MDL formed.
@Patsy Miller afternoon….how are average hair relaxer contracts going for now?
The last I saw Hair Relaxer was going for 3800-4000/per with the following criteria: diagnosed 2014 or after w/Ovarian, Uterine or Endometrial cancer only. No Revlon only usage.
do you know we do any med verify on any torts? One firm asking for NEC
hey @Patsy Miller how things? How fast are we delivering AFFF currently?
I’m not sure I have all the answers! We cleared $150k in about 3 weeks. That doesn’t really answer your question though. I don’t have access to all the data.
seems most budgets are still coming in heavy for AFFF, so must be moving some decent volume overall still
ok, and at 3k/each, that’s 50 contracts, so 2-3 contracts/day
Yes, there are definitely much larger budgets getting cleared. That’s just the only active example I have.
I think you need to quote $3500 right now. That’s what I’m seeing on weekly reports for active campaigns.
just priced me out as soon I received interest
There’s a lot of agencies quoting lower prices, but they will end up with higher fallout…costing them more in the end. I think it’s important to sell the fact that we are checking a huge database for dual rep issues. Those cheaper prices are not offering that.
In the process of getting one, maybe two, campaigns launched for Wagstaff!
No one told me that. I'm working through their funding teams and co-counsel.
Last spoke to Jonathan in the summer, I follow up once a quarter
Weird. We have all been talking to Jonathan...and his son. Does he know you work with us?
Tried to give us $1mm a year back and Cameron couldn’t do it
Cameroon has even been involved in these deals so I’m blown away that no one has mentioned anything. I guess maybe because you haven’t closed deals with them??
Cameron knows we spoke with Jonathan about big paraquat budgets in the past
This happened a couple months back with Arkady & Associates as well
We actually have a CRM now, but we are still in the process of getting it working.
So Andy never closed a deal then? Just trying to figure out how it plays out.
No that one didn’t close, we actually don’t know why 🤷♂️
