Hey there' Ryan asked me to reach out and ask about this doc - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f4dsXDnzl69dnN6YljI-61K8xpPbcCFb/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=111138141395663359812&rtpof=true&sd=true
He went ahead and changed some colors on this and wanted to inquire if the agg payroll in the database on Bitquery should be the sum total of the two highlighted Bonuses?
Ofc. I was a bit confused befreo I relaized
Private and I promise well meaning question..
Do you have any idea what he's talking about? I understand like he's talking about billing and reporting but I'm not sure if he's actually asking anything of us or just kind of talking and working
Cool, just wanted to make sure- I was lost and wondering if I should be trying to figure out what he needs me to do with all this
I think he works better like this sometimes. As long as I have a broad idea I don't worry. Everything here is very dynamic.
It ended up getting moved around a little for Ryan's requests on something else
But David and Nick are doing it I belive
Oop- Sorry about that. I got wrangled on a last second ryan project and running a meeting on it. In the Five9 thing now
Hey there, Working on a proof of concept for a project, and I'm gonna need access to Re-tool and Looker. Got approval from Ryan, he gave me the thumbs up for permission, and requested I ask you
jturner@shield-legal.com - Could we set up some time to go over the very basics and get me on there some time past 3pm this afternoon/ or any time after 11am Tomorrow?
Yeah. I think it'd be better not today so you can mess around with it and come up with some questions
You are added into looker as an admin.
Of course. In Retool feel free to mess with the "status" tab in the "TIP Operations Application - Production." I just added a container to it for you to try some stuff out.
Since the 9am got cancelled want to hop on then?
Hey there, let me see what I have going on with the team today RQ. Likely gonna have to make it tomorrow but I'll see if I can move stuff around
If Cameron doesn't show, are you available right after this?
cool- thank you. What I developed is gonna be a little bit of a learning curve but it will make a better future for all of us in the long term
Not yet, likely no but giving it 10 minutes
Cool- yeah I can present to you now if you have the time
Hey there' Do you know what is the raw "source of truth" table for Leadspedia? I am looking for a table where they have Leadspedia Lead ID, and Leadspedia Contract ID in the same table and it has not been edited or transformed at all. Ideally a direct rip from Leadspedia
Or a table with the Lawruler Case Type ID and leadspedia contracts
I see a whole bunch of different Leadspedia tables but I'm not sure what the true source is
I do not know outside of lawruler I pull it from lawrulers report generator
Hey there~ I am playing with Retool, and I want to make a tool where You can select a column from a table and update it in retool and it updates the database kind of like what you set up for the billing. Would you be able to walk me through the method of how you did that at some point?
3:30 works! That would be awesome, thank you!
Ok, I hit a stopping point on what I was working on. ready whenever
Heyo~ Good morning! I had some questions about the rev rates IO retool you made
Alright Want to hop on a call in about an hour?
COnnex not happy with us leaving so soon? lol
They've been a nightmare from the start. The British dude who's the COO(?) seemingly knew nothing about Connex and the guy who helped me set it all up from Leadspedia>Connex was no helpful at all
10 minute call? it's about the spend app. I want to have answers if asked tomorrow and I want to talk it out real quick
Talking to myself doesnt work that well and my dog can't understand
Lol Sure thing, call me when you're ready
Hey Brian~ Hope you're having a good day!
When possible, can you please throw on another field to add aggagentcommission to the iotipmonthly_expenses retool?
You're awesome
Hey there~ I don't see it on my end? Am I looking at the right one?
Realized I didn't send this yesterday I thought I did- that's my bad
Just crossed my mind, since we added commission here, we can remove it on the iocasetyperevrates table, and the retool that feeds into that
I removed it from tort-intake-professionals.<a href="http://tip_prod_application.io">tip_prod_application.io</a>_lr_case_types_revenue_rates, if you can remove the commission columns from the retool we should be good
ioagentoverideactive, ioagentcommissionrate, ioagentoveridecommissionrate
Awesome- I'm going through the database and attempting to clean it all up now and there's a bunch of scheduled queries that I don't own so if you see em pop back up anywhere please let me know lol
Hey there, I am going to be fleshing out the PCTID retool. I imagine you would like me to build in in another instance so I'm not messing with prod. If I do though, is there an easy way in retool to move the whole page over?
Or should I build in prod and just be careful?
Want to hop on a quick call bc I want to make sure I understand what you mean? Also, Can we schedule a longer call tomorrow or Friday mid morning for some of the media buyer spend submit logistics?
Nick ward and Nick Mcfadden are having a meeting right behind me (Ward and I share an office) so I can't hop on a call right this second but I can try and break it down.
Awhile back we discussed moving PCTID to a retool so it's not on an excel sheet. Because we need to start adding Leadspedia Contract ID's to each campaign, Ryan requested that we get it into the main retool for TIP so mal can update it
You can build it in prod. It can be fixed if it breaks
Cool, sounds good- I'm seeing now there a branch system so it works out
I'll dig into how to make a branch just to be safe
Also, which field am I taking out of the spend submitter?
Wait, it was total commission expense that needed to go right?
So for a little background on this just so you know why and we can work what might need to change together.
Ryan had the understanding that agents got commission, by the campaigns they did and it was a straightforward commission rate, with points, but Tony has since changed that system a few times over to include weird bonus's and "spiffs" and point minimums and all kinds of mess\
not with how it works, but the system changes
I'm flexible, whatever works I can go with
So I went to Payroll / Accounting and requested that they start putting in the total agent commission paid out in aggagentcommission field which is what you added the other day (Thanks again lol)
Now we just gotta figure out what fields to remove so we don't end up double counting commission
Ultimately I want to build an actual system for commission with full support from the buisness side so we don't run into more of this chaos lol
From what I am seeing right now, it looks like we would remove these fields here, but I am not sure where the other numbers come from. It looks like ti all feeds into iorevrates which logically would say these things are things that create revenue, but they also say cost in the name, and imply they cost us money lol
I forgot who asked for those fields. Maybe that guy that just left? I don't remember. I know he used it
Just to be safe, and avoid you having to potentially double work, just remove those 2 highlighted fields for right now, and I'll poke around some more before we accidently break anything lol
Oh by the way, not sure if you saw my wall of text from the sprint meeting the other day..
Ryan requested that I ask you to do 2 things?
1 was to get the status rates tab on the retool working
and the other I /THINK/ is what we are talking about
unless it means something different to you
I saw. I see you in retool lol. I havent seen that before
That's pretty cool, I see you flying around lol
I'll get status rates going by tomorrow morning
Excuse my spelling. I had too much coffee
You're golden, I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum. Didn't have any coffee yet this morning lol
I know I have said it before but props to you. This retool stuff is DENSE
That makes me feel better lol I thought I was getting slow in my old age
I do data backend python stuff because my brief experience with front end made me feel like a big dummy lol
but I want to learn both and retool is a good start lol
Still figuring the bugs out, but I found something kinda cool I didn't know you could do in retool
What’s the recently discovered retool feature?
It's far from finished but it should minimize errors and duplicates when people put in data.
Check out the personal Casetype ID page, and go to update the broad tort type on campaign 2014, Mormon Victim Abuse - Marsh - HRSC - Shield Legal
Instead of an excel sheet where someone is going to put the name of the law firm in wrong, or spell something incorrectly, or maybe you aren't sure how to break down the broad tort type vs the specific, start typing, and it refers against itself to give you suggestions and makes sure it matches.
This is quite a casetype name
and since it's arrays, you can add all the weird one off tags that Cam and Ryan want, without it ever breaking any names
Lol yeah, I pull from Lawruler. I need to figure out how to sort it by default to Lawruler Case Type ID descending, and keep all the rows in order and the right shape
It seems to randomize it when I refresh sometimes and idk why
Lol yeah, I pull from Lawruler. I need to figure out how to sort it by default to Lawruler Case Type ID descending, and keep all the rows in order and the right shape
They're alphabetical for me minus the first 2
It's still very much in progress, but It's pretty cool so far lol
interesting it seems only some of the columns sort alphabetically when clicked on
Slowly, but it's kind of starting to make sense
gotta seed some values and add some error codes but I /think/ the retool aspect is done.. Whatcha think?
I missed this yesterday somehow. Looks good!
I'd like a little demo on some of the building of when you get a chance. Pretty cool!
Anything in particular you were looking at?
I'm looking at it a bit here and there. IDK yet
I like this lil bit. nice touch
Hell yeah, the automation worked that pulls in new campaigns as they are created in Lawruler automagicly
If you wanna try updating something in it to see how it works, now would be a good time for the campaign that just came in
Heyo~ From what I understand you are the owner for all our Retool stuff- do you admin it as well? (Admin in the sense of keeping track of billing, users, and RBAC?)
Looker is showing signs of major limitation for dashboards with the way a ton of the architecture has been designed, but Retool can handle it really well! I'm toying with the possibility of making a separate app for dashboards but I have a few concerns I wanted your thoughts on:
I might be misunderstanding what a workflow is, I thought a workflow was any individual query or event handler but I think I was wrong..
I haven’t looked at how many we are using monthly in retool. I doubt we’ll hit 5k though unless we start using it for way more stuff than I anticipated
That makes sense. I'll dig a bit. Thanks much
Heyo~ Message from Ryan. He wants to set one of the campaigns to a $0.50 cost for minute rate, but it's currently set as a integer, not a float so the re-tool is erroring out.
Ryan is requesting that you update the retool to work with decimal numbers. In order for you to do that, I need to update a whole bunch of stuff on the database to a float datatype, instead of a integer datatype.
it's going to mess up all the historical stuff bc I think we'd have to delete that row
He wants it fractional, so I have to rebuild the entire new financial system database to support it which is going to take awhile, but I can start on it as soon as I get out of this meeting
I remember building it and was specifically told it would always be an integer
I'm still plottin' and schemin' but I /think/ I can make an exact copy of it as a float
Want to hop on a quick call to talk it out? I want to be clear before any bug changes are made
12 work? I see your 5nine call ends then. Should only take 5-10
I'm still on with Ryan, it already went over my five9 lol, but when I'm off here I will call you to run you through my plan to make those changes. All you should need to own is updating that field in the retool
BC I don't think it needs to be updated in retool. It errored out bc BigQuery was expecting an integer but got a float
If that's the case, awesome lol- I'll let you know when the Bigquery stuff has been updated and we can test the retool together to make sure
Updating the inital tables will be easy, but I have an ungodly amount of scheduled queries that reference that table, and create new tables, each with their own schema that may have to be updated
No, I normally get in at 9:30. The slack just woke me up lol
Sorry about that, enjoy your morning. LMK when in office and we can figure it out
I knew what it was used for but I wanted some dots to be connected for her
Oh btw- she came to me because she wanted to add April to operating expenses but it wasn't populating as an option?
Can you help me with something this afternoon? I want to put a table in an app for up-serts for the media buyer and I’m having some issues.
I just tried to add April and May into the table and job history is showing it completed but it is not appearing in the table
Damn, it did add it just took a long time
and in my impatience I added an additional one
Ok, pivot on the table help thing, I have a quick SQL question in retool and then we can hop off. We can revisit the table next week. Ryan just wants the data in so once this one little part is fixed I'll seed it all. Then when I'm i a rhythym with that I can worry about the upserts later
You're good- we can come back to this later. I'm sure it's something simple we are overlooking. Lemme know when you're available
I'll email retool to see if we're missing something glaring
I thought about the Retool thing and figured out we might be approaching it wrong. Mocking up a test rn to show you
Ooohhhh I’ve been ripping my hair out lol
So before when you built it, it was always one to many, meaning that the other field could be any value because it always changed, BUT in this case the Vertical ID and Vertical name HAVE to match, they are a 'key pair'
We were trying to set it up so when you select one, the other auto fills which is fine normally but since were doing it as a drop down setup instead of like "heres the data, have a filter" we would have to make it so the vertical they select is selectable from the ID OR the name, and we would have to code that option for everything else and that's just gonna muddy the water for anyone using it.
I'm still testing my workaround on a seperate project but i'll let you know
All good, It's not that complex, I'll send you a video lol
Instead of checking what that drop down selection is, just check what they clicked on the verticalselectiontable
This way they can't edit anything at all, they can see what is active / inactive ect
If you wanna include less columns, that's easy just un-select
You still gotta tweak it and finish it up but this should get you where you need to be and make it easier for media buyers
Did you make the verticals table in SL BigQuery
No I didn't make anything in the SL bigquery
Hey man~ It connected that Ryan has been asking for a hot minute about the status rates table on the retool, but also throwing a million other tasks at you-
Depending on how these meetings today go, I may have some availability. Would it be alright if I hopped in to help with that?
I’ll work on it this weekend. I’ve kinda been neglecting it bc I haven’t had any direction but it’s becoming more clear I should just make something and take direction from there
I had it working and then he edited the table so everything broke
Makes sense- I saw it was broken this morning when I was running analysis on status data and saw a bunch of the 'terminal' status's were set to null
That took me like 6 hours of troubleshooting lol
Hey there~ I heard a bunch of people were visiting this week but never got the full list- you coming to vegas??
I will not There’s a lunch meeting I’m joining virtually though
Hey, I saw retool has a feature to enable working on it in vscode? Can we try that out?
