Do you have permission to change who reports to who in Paylocity?
I believe that would have to be a more formal process. Can I ask who you are trying to change so that I can check?
I am told that my team should report to me instead of my boss (since I am a manager). The change would be to have the integrations team (Dwight Thomas, Ahsan Tebha, Daniel Schussler, Zekarias Haile) report to me (Integrations Manager) instead of Nicholas McFadden (Head of Business Intelligence) (my manager)
Would you be checking time sheets and conducting yearly reviews? Or would that still be under McFadden?
The whole team is salary, but I am told that I should be doing the yearly reviews and PTO requests
I forgot about that. PTO requests is definitely closer to what I was talking about. We can definitely get that moved over. Let me talk to my team about how that process will look. I will update you ASAP!
I will be bringing over a form for you to fill out for each person in a little while 🙂
I am heading to lunch and will be back in about an hour
For the supervisor sign off would that be me or McFadden?
Has your team looked into digitizing those forms? You can use a tool like https://www.jotform.com/ and have it auto send to supervisors for signature then the HR team.
I think that would be great but to be honest, I don't know how open my team would be to changing the process that they are used to. I've actually looked into doing it through our HR software (paylocity) and told them its possible but there wasn't much interest in the change. I appreciate it though!
I understand, I deal with the same thing with the non-profit I volunteer with.
I think once we get past the tax/W2 season, they will probably have more time and I will be able to work with them on process improvement. Thats my goal at least
I am getting an error when trying to approve a PTO request. If I am reading the information correctly, if I was able to approve the request the PTO balance would go negative. Do you think I cannot approve the request because it would make the balance negative?
Sorry, I was out of office. I will ask Connie when she gets in at 8a!
