These lawsuits allege the Paragard intrauterine device breaks upon removal because it fractures and migrates. There are now more than 2600 lawsuits filed against Teva Pharmaceutical and CooperSurgical...and we have seen an increase in the number of cases being filed over the last couple months.
These women have had issues such as breakage during the removal process, causing painful complications and removal surgery.
The bellwether trial date is set for October 2024.

Morning! I read this in Joseph Fantini’s post this morning and I want to add a similar sentence or modify what you wrote a bit. Johnson & Johnson was ordered to pay $260 million to an Oregon woman who said she got mesothelioma from inhaling Johnson's Baby Powder...she used it as a deodorant. Mesothelioma is a deadly cancer linked to asbestos exposure. The jury's award includes $60 million in compensatory damages and $200 million in punitive damages, and includes damages for both the plaintiff and her husband.
While the majority of the talcum powder lawsuits again J&J are from women with ovarian cancer, there is a small percentage of mesothelioma claims. J&J continues to pursue a proposed $6.48 billion settlement of most talc-related ovarian cancer lawsuits against it through a prepackaged bankruptcy.

Mark Lanier owns a theological library and he hosts a tour of the library at the same time as the golf tournament.
There’s also some sort of charity he does and maybe he mentions that on the site.
The conference is literally just mark Lanier on stage talking for 2.5 days.

Have you seen the news about the latest Ozempic/Wegovy injury? According to a new study by Mass General Brigham researchers, patients taking Ozempic and Wegovy face a greater risk of a stroke of the optic nerve...a rare condition called NAION (Nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy).
NAION is a rare condition that afflicts 2 to 10 out of 100,000 people. Like a brain stroke, the condition occurs from reduced blood flow to the optic nerve, which can damage tissue. It is the second most common cause of blindness from optic nerve damage, trailing only glaucoma.
Will we see this added to the current list of injuries on the Ozempic/Wegovy MDL?

This settlement highlights the importance of the enforcement of biometric data laws and privacy rights...precedent setting, in my opinion. An unbelievably talented team fought the good fight and won the largest settlement that a single state has ever achieved...the largest settlement of it's type by a state in American history. Impressive!
Meta agreed to pay $1.4 billion to Texas because they illegally used facial recognition technology to collect biometric data of millions of Texas without their consent.
